Genital Psoriasis is usually located in the groin and genital areas.

Most of the time, Genital Psoriasis is also joined by psoriasis elsewhere but in rare cases it may develop in the genital area only. Having been said, it may be difficult to make a positive correct diagnosis plus the symptoms may be confused with contact dermatitis,  (Which is a yeast infections in the skin folds).
Areas that are affected usually look reddish, moist and have a shine to it. They may range from tiny spots to big patches. Genital Psoriasis doesn’t have the typical abundant whitish-silvery scaling.

Genital Psoriasis, known to be similar as “jock itch” and “athletes foot”, is usually itchy because it is located in an extremely sensitive area, but can be tolerated with the right cream.

A worst case scenario of Genital Psoriasis may feel tight and..

some soreness, it may eventually separate and crack. When this sensitive area is over-irritated by excessive scratching, there is a big chance of an infection. And when this does happen, the area becomes almost intolerable and very sore.

Inversed Psoriasis (skin fold Psoriasis) is commonly known to appear in the genital area.

Areas that Genital Psoriasis Symptoms may appear are: the pubic area; upper thigh area next to groin; skin in between the thigh/groin; testicles (for women, the vulva); the penis and scrotum); skin between the anus and vulva, and the surrounding skin of the anus; also skin between the buttocks.

Due to many nerve endings, Psoriasis located on the genitals areas themselves is considerably very uncomfortable.

For the men, Penile Psoriasis usually appears as tiny, red spots on the tip of the penis or the penis shaft. The skin is usually smooth but sometimes also scaly.

For women, Genital Psoriasis may have an affect of the outside skin of the vulva, the pubic area, buttocks and between the buttocks.

Genital Psoriasis usually affects the outer layer of skin near or on the genitals.

Having Genital Psoriasis is known to be triggered by underwear (especially the tight-fitting kind) rubbing against the skin. Athletic people or individuals who sweat a lot risk having more itchier symptoms than usual.

Anal Psoriasis, which is usually located on or near the anus, is reddish, itchy and usually not scaly. Anal Psoriasis symptoms are known to be confused with yeast and fungal infections, hemorrhoid itching, and even pin worm infestations. By having a rectal examination by a doctor should help to make a correct diagnosis.

Typical symptoms of Anal Psoriasis may include bleeding, pain when having bowel movements, and itching excessively.
